[Diagnosis and treatment of retrocaval ureter]

The authors present a brief characteristic of the genesis and development of a retrocaval ureter. They describe the case-history and treatment in a 3.5-year-old girl with right-sided hydronephrosis of unknown aetiology. Genetic examination revealed Turner's syndrome. The anomaly was diagnosed on operation. Resection and antiposition of the ureter were performed and suture of pyeloureteroanastomosis using the method Anderson-Hynes.
