  • To determine the incidence of active parenchymal and mediastinal lung lesions in patients with pleural TB.
  • To compare the diagnostic yield of chest X-ray (CXR) versus high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT) for detecting these lesions.

  • Prospective study of 88 HIV-negative patients with unilateral pleural TB from 2008-2009.
  • Radiographic and tomographic abnormalities were assessed by three independent specialists.
  • Lesions were classified based on criteria for disease activity and nonspecific findings.
