Atrial natriuretic factor and autonomic nervous system function in man

Background:

• Atrial natriuretic peptide (ANF) plays a role in cardiovascular regulation.

• To investigate the effects of synthetic ANF-(99-126) on autonomic nervous system function in healthy young men.
• To compare the impact of ANF-(99-126) with sodium nitroprusside (SNP), a known vasodilator, on autonomic indices.
