[The immunopathology of asthma]

Allergic asthma has an immunological mechanism of immediate hypersensitivity, of the Type 1 in the classification of Gell and Coombs. This article considers recent data concerning immediate hypersensitivity that complicate the original plan and give the priority: at the cellular level: mast cells at the mediator level: histamine.
