Purpose of the Study:

  • To identify factors associated with the development of ICDs in Parkinson disease patients.
  • To understand the relationship between psychiatric, cognitive, and behavioral aspects in PD with ICDs.

Main Methods:

  • A multicenter case-control study involving Parkinson disease patients with and without ICDs.
  • Individual matching for age, gender, and dopamine agonist treatment.
  • Comprehensive neurological, psychiatric, and cognitive assessments were performed.

Main Results:

  • Patients with ICDs reported significantly higher functional impairment, depressive symptoms, and anxiety.
