Summary

Multiple orbital cavernous hemangiomas are rare but should be considered in differential diagnoses. This study identified four cases, highlighting their unique presentation and successful surgical outcomes.

Background:

  • Orbital cavernous hemangiomas are typically unilateral and solitary.
  • Multiple orbital cavernous hemangiomas are exceptionally rare clinical entities.

Observation:

  • This case series identified 4 patients with multiple orbital cavernous hemangiomas among 214 orbital cavernous hemangioma cases.
  • All affected patients presented with painless, progressive proptosis, predominantly in the left orbit.

Findings:

  • CT imaging revealed multiple, well-defined, round or ovoid masses with sharp borders.
  • B-scan ultrasonography demonstrated round orbital masses with high internal reflectivity.

Implications:

  • Multiple orbital cavernous hemangiomas, though rare, warrant consideration in the differential diagnosis of orbital mass lesions.
