  • The patient was diagnosed with retinal phlebitis and pulmonary tuberculosis via chest X-ray and CT scans.
  • Treatment with anti-tuberculosis medications led to the resolution of xanthopsia and normalization of fundus appearance.

Implications:

  • Xanthopsia can be an early indicator of retinal vasculitis associated with tuberculosis.
  • Ophthalmologists should consider retinal vasculitis in patients presenting with xanthopsia, prompting investigation for underlying systemic conditions like tuberculosis.
