Chronic Type A aortic dissection: could surgical intervention be guided by molecular markers?

Chronic aortic dissection may not always require surgery. Histological analysis revealed that both primitive and false lumens are lined by endothelial cells, and the false lumen walls contain terminally differentiated cells, questioning mandatory surgical intervention.
