Hepatic vein waveforms in liver cirrhosis re-evaluated

Changes in hepatic vein Doppler waveforms in liver cirrhosis patients may indicate altered hepatic blood flow, not necessarily liver dysfunction. Flat waveforms showed no diagnostic value, suggesting hemodynamic changes are key.

- Flat hepatic vein waveforms lack diagnostic value in liver cirrhosis.
- Hemodynamic changes, reflected in hepatic blood flow, appear to be a more plausible cause for waveform alterations than liver dysfunction alone.
