[Prognostic medico-social potential of work capacity as an indicator of population's health]

To provide a complex socio-hygienic and economic evaluation of population's health status a suggestion is made of essentially new integral index--the level of prognostic medico-social potential of working ability taking into account all kinds of labour losses and permitting to evaluate not only population's health status but also the amount of socio-hygienic damage caused by diseases and injuries. A mathematical model is developed for calculating the level of prognostic medico-social potential of working ability and for the first time with the help of index suggested the evaluation of dynamics in the Kazakh SSR population's health status is realized which confirmed its acceptability.
