Background:

Anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) is a standard surgical procedure for symptomatic cervical spine disc disease.
Cervical disc herniation can lead to significant pain and neurological deficits.

Purpose of the Study:

To evaluate the clinical outcomes of ACDF in patients with cervical disc herniation.
To analyze the efficacy and safety of ACDF based on clinical and radiological data.

Main Methods:

A cohort of 67 patients with single-level cervical disc herniation underwent ACDF.
Preoperative, immediate postoperative, and 7-month postoperative clinical and radiological assessments were conducted.

Significant improvements were observed 7 months post-surgery: 91% pain reduction, 79% improved neck range of motion, and 78% improvement in motor and sensory function.

Radiological evaluation revealed an 85% bony fusion rate at the treated cervical spine segment.

Conclusions:

ACDF is a highly effective surgical treatment for cervical disc degeneration, offering substantial pain relief and functional recovery.
The procedure demonstrates a low complication rate and a high fusion success rate, confirming its safety and efficacy.
