  • 144 female and 156 male athletes completed validated questionnaires.
  • Measures included Negative Addiction Scale, mood, depression, anxiety, quality of life, and sleep scales.

  • No significant gender differences in negative exercise addiction development were observed.
  • Athletes with exercise addiction symptoms, particularly females, reported lower vigor and higher depression.
  • No differences in overall quality of life or mood were found between genders.

Conclusions:
