Memory complaints in chronic stroke patients are predicted by memory self-efficacy rather than memory capacity

Memory complaints after stroke are linked to lower memory self-efficacy (MSE), not actual memory ability. Improving MSE may help reduce these complaints in stroke survivors.

- Memory complaints in stroke patients are primarily predicted by MSE, not objective memory capacity.
- Memory self-efficacy training could be a viable strategy for managing memory complaints in chronic stroke survivors.
