Background:

Fabrication of fixed partial dentures requires accurate representation of tooth preparations, including the gingival margin.
Trimming dies during fabrication destroys the natural soft tissue emergence profile, necessitating a soft tissue cast.

Observation:

A modified technique for fabricating a soft tissue cast is described.
The technique involves pouring a polyvinylsiloxane impression twice: first with die stone for the die cast, then with a resilient material for gingival areas, and finally with gypsum for the remaining impression.

Findings:

This modified technique successfully creates a soft tissue cast without requiring a second impression or additional clinical appointments.
The procedure is less technique-sensitive and involves simpler laboratory steps compared to conventional methods.
