Abstract:
Mild cognitive impairment (MCI) is recognized as a prodromal phase of dementing disorders, and it has been suggested that oxidative stress may play a role in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease (AD), and in predicting progression of MCI to AD. In the present article, on the basis of an increasing body of evidence from cross-sectional and longitudinal studies, we discussed the issue of the possible impact of antioxidant compounds from diet and supplementation on MCI and its progression to AD.
