Summary

This study shows that a patient education program on multiple sclerosis (MS) relapses is transferable to clinical practice. Healthcare professionals successfully delivered the program, enhancing patient understanding and decision autonomy regarding relapse management.

  • A train-the-trainer program (TTTP) was conducted for 31 healthcare professionals.
  • 261 persons with MS (pwMS) participated in the subsequent education program.

  • Most pwMS understood the core messages, showing increased risk knowledge and desire for decision autonomy.
