Quantitative computed tomography assessment of transfusional iron overload

Quantitative computed tomography (QCT) shows promise for measuring liver iron concentration (LIC) in patients with transfusional siderosis, especially when MRI is unavailable. QCT is viable for moderate to severe iron levels but not for well-controlled cases.
