[Our experience of biomaterial use for lamellar keratoplasty]
Abstract:
The results of use of biomaterial Alloplant (BMA) for lamellar keratoplasty (LKP) were analyzed. The most part of patients had ocular burns (40.2%), i.e. the most severe damage. Combined variants of BMA for LKP with other alloplants were studied. The most often used combination was alloplant for LKP with alloplant for conjunctiva reconstruction and allotendinous threads (24.5%), this combination let to cover extensive corneal and conjunctival defects. Significant improvement of visual acuity in 241 patients after long-term follow-up was achieved. The complications of LKP with BMA transplantation are discussed.
