Serum soluble intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (sICAM-1) levels predict chemotherapy effectiveness and survival in advanced non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients. Baseline sICAM-1 and its response during treatment are reliable prognostic markers.
