Summary

Bilateral robotic single-site partial nephrectomy is technically feasible for treating kidney tumors. This minimally invasive approach demonstrated no recurrence after 12 months.

  • The procedure involved a left nephrectomy without clamping and a right nephrectomy with 29 minutes of warm ischemia time, utilizing a single umbilical port and one additional port.

Findings:

  • The total operative time was 350 minutes, with 238 minutes of robotic console time.
  • No operative complications or conversions to open surgery were encountered.
  • A 12-month follow-up revealed no evidence of tumor recurrence, indicating successful oncological outcomes.

Implications:

  • This case demonstrates the technical feasibility of performing bilateral robotic single-site partial nephrectomy.
  • The findings suggest this approach may be a viable option for select patients with bilateral renal tumors, potentially offering oncological control with minimal invasiveness.
