Polymorphic microsatellite markers for the critically endangered Balearic shearwater, Puffinus mauretanicus

New microsatellite markers were developed for the endangered Balearic shearwater (Puffinus mauretanicus). These genetic tools will aid in understanding population structure and hybridization with the Yelkouan shearwater (Puffinus yelkouan).
