[From requirements to resources, Demerouti's model in the service of nursing care]
1Haute Ecole de Santé ARC, Neuchâtel.
Abstract:
Caught in a stranglehold between budgetary restrictions, that is to say the decrease of resources on the one hand, the intensification of work and the increasing complexity of caring situations on the other hand, the nursing staff more and more often experience stress in the daily practice of their profession. This universe certainly remains strongly imbued with the general tendency to profitability and to cost cutting, but it seems nevertheless possible, according to Demerouti, to act positively on the resources of the individuals. The development and the valuation of these internal and external resources would then allow a better adaptation and a higher resistance to the requirements of the professional exercise.
