Abstract:
In the title compound, [Fe(C(20)H(14)N(4)O(2))Cl], the Fe(III) ion is in a distorted square-pyramidal environment, with two pyridine and two deprotonated amide N atoms in the basal plane and the Cl ion in the apical position. The Fe(III) ion is displaced from the basal plane of the square- pyramid towards the apical Cl atom by 0.2942 (4) Å. The mol-ecules are linked into a three-dimensional network by C-H⋯Cl and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.
