Histochemical and ultrastructural examinations revealed characteristics indicative of hepatocyte origin, including preserved glucose-6-phosphatase and adenosinetriphosphatase activity.
- Immunohistochemistry showed positive CEA in some cells and negative AFP in all tumors, with AAT detected in three. Ultrastructural analysis identified dense-core granules and positive serotonin reactions in some FLC cells.
