Background:

The concept of alcohol dependence syndrome necessitates reliable measurement tools.
Existing scales for alcohol dependence require translation for diverse linguistic populations.
The Severity of Alcohol Dependence Data Questionnaire is a recognized measure.

Purpose of the Study:

To translate and validate the Severity of Alcohol Dependence Data Questionnaire into the Iccal language.
To assess the psychometric properties of the Iccal version of the scale.
To provide a culturally adapted tool for measuring alcohol dependence in Iccal-speaking patients.

Main Methods:

Translation of 12 questions from the Severity of Alcohol Dependence Data Questionnaire into Iccal.
Administration of the translated questionnaire to 70 patients at a deaddiction center.
Evaluation of the translated version for internal validity, criterion validity, and external validity.

Main Results:

The Iccal translation of the Severity of Alcohol Dependence Data Questionnaire was successfully developed.
