Substance abuse can cause sudden hearing loss, but this case showed significant improvement with steroids and vasoactive therapy. Early evaluation is crucial for potential recovery from drug-induced auditory dysfunction.

- Residual high-frequency hearing loss remained, but overall hearing sensitivity was restored.

- Potential mechanisms include altered pharmacokinetics, vascular spasm, ischemia, encephalopathy, or intralabyrinthine hemorrhage.
