Fatal adenovirus type 7 pneumonia in an adult

Abstract:
A case of fatal pneumonia caused by adenovirus type 7 in an adult is reported. This virus was isolated from the lung tissue, and typical inclusion bodies were found in histological sections. Death due to adenovirus pneumonia in adults appears to be extremely rare.
