Summary

The structuredness of the cytoplasmic matrix (SCM) test shows high accuracy for colorectal cancer detection. Prominent SCM test changes may indicate cecal cancers, a hard-to-reach area.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) diagnosis relies on sensitive and specific methods.

Subgroup analysis based on the anatomic location of the malignancy.

Evaluation of diagnostic sensitivity, specificity, and predictive values.

Main Results:

The SCM test demonstrated high diagnostic sensitivity (92%) and specificity (92.6%).
Positive and negative predictive values were 96.3% and 84.7%, respectively.
A trend suggested more pronounced SCM test changes in cecal cancers compared to other locations.

Conclusions:

The SCM test is a highly accurate method for diagnosing colorectal cancer.
Findings suggest the SCM test may be particularly valuable for detecting cancers in the cecum.
Further site-specific surveillance is recommended to validate the association between SCM test changes and cecal cancers.
