Summary

This study introduces a novel Ilizarov hip reconstruction technique using only internal implants, offering a patient-friendly alternative to traditional external fixation methods for hip dislocation. The new approach resulted in successful leg equalization and improved gait without complications.

  • A motorized intramedullary nail facilitated the distal osteotomy for lengthening and varization.

    • The procedure achieved a healing index of 33 days/cm.
    • Full weight-bearing was attained at 6 months post-surgery.
    • One-year follow-up demonstrated improved gait, leg length equalization, reduced pain, and high patient satisfaction with cosmetic outcomes.
