Background:

Subtalar dislocations are uncommon foot injuries.
Calcaneonavicular coalition is a congenital fusion of tarsal bones.
Associated fractures can complicate subtalar dislocations.

Observation:

A patient presented with a medial subtalar dislocation.
The dislocation was associated with a pre-existing calcaneonavicular coalition.
The traumatic event of the dislocation caused a fracture of the coalition.

Findings:

The medial subtalar dislocation led to a fracture of the calcaneonavicular coalition.
This indicates that pre-existing bony abnormalities can be vulnerable to traumatic injury.
Imaging confirmed the dislocation and the fracture through the coalition.

It emphasizes the importance of considering underlying bony anomalies in trauma.
