Summary

Vacuum assisted closure (VAC) therapy is effective for treating various wounds in vascular surgery, including venous ulcers and soft tissue infections. Further research is needed on its use with infected vascular grafts.

  • A retrospective analysis of 59 patients treated with VAC therapy in 2008.
  • VAC therapy was applied to various conditions including venous ulcers, diabetic foot syndrome, secondary healing wounds, and infected vascular grafts.

  • VAC therapy showed high efficacy in treating venous ulcers (100%), soft tissue infections (100%), and secondary healing wounds (100%).
