Perianal disease in patients with ulcerative colitis: A case-control study

Perianal disease (PAD) affects up to 5% of ulcerative colitis (UC) patients, particularly men with extensive disease. While not increasing colectomy rates, complex PAD in UC may necessitate diagnostic changes and higher steroid use.
