Background:

  • Erectile dysfunction (ED) is a common complication following bilateral nerve sparing robotic prostatectomy (BNSRP).
  • Restoring sexual function after BNSRP is crucial for patient quality of life.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the efficacy of tadalafil combined with a vacuum erection device (VED) for treating ED after BNSRP.
  • To compare the combination therapy against tadalafil monotherapy in improving erectile function recovery.

Main Methods:

  • A randomized study involving men with ED post-BNSRP.
  • Participants received either tadalafil alone or tadalafil plus VED for 12 months.
  • Efficacy was assessed using the International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF-5) and penile hardness scores.

Main Results:

  • The combination group showed significantly higher mean IIEF-5 scores at 6, 9, and 12 months.
