Abstract:
On the basis of an analysis of changes in 43 patients with chronic subdural hematomas before and after surgical treatment the times have been established of complete disappearance of chronic subdural hematoma using closed external drainage bearing in mind the patient's age, hematoma standing, the clinical phase of disease and craniocerebral correlations. It has been proved that the use of sparing treatment methods enables one to attain reexpansion of long compressed chronic hematoma of the brain even in senile and middle-aged persons.
