Cognitive changes in spinocerebellar ataxia type 2

Patients with spinocerebellar ataxia type 2 (SCA2) show significant cognitive deficits, performing worse on all tested tasks, especially those with increased motor difficulty. Cognitive impairment severity correlates with earlier disease onset.
