Are endogenous feline leukemia viruses really endogenous?

Endogenous feline leukemia viruses (FeLV) may transmit between cats by acquiring exogenous LTRs, forming novel FeLV-B viruses. This research identifies two field isolates suggesting the between-host transmission of endogenous FeLV.
