Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) has increased overall S. aureus infections, primarily by adding to, not replacing, methicillin-susceptible S. aureus (MSSA). MSSA still causes many infections, so MRSA eradication alone won't solve the public health issue.
