Summary

Inguinal hernia is associated with significant pathological changes in surrounding vascular structures, including fibrosis, dilation, and medial hyperplasia. These vascular alterations may contribute to inguinal region weakening and hernia formation.

  • Arteries exhibited medial hyperplasia, leading to sub-occlusion or occlusion.
  • Pathological vascular changes were observed in hernia patients but not in controls.

Conclusions:

  • Observed vascular changes may result from chronic compression by abdominal viscera.
  • These vascular alterations could be a contributing factor to inguinal region weakening and hernia development.
