Newer antiepileptic drugs (AEDs) offer improved pharmacokinetics and tolerability, but individualizing treatment remains key for epilepsy management. Despite advances, a third of patients experience uncontrolled seizures, highlighting the need for novel therapies and underutilized epilepsy surgery.
