Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate serum bilirubin concentrations in patients with multiple sclerosis (MS).
  • To compare bilirubin levels in MS patients with healthy controls and patients with cerebral infarction.
  • To explore potential correlations between bilirubin levels and MS characteristics.

Main Methods:

  • Serum total bilirubin (Tbil), direct bilirubin (Dbil), and indirect bilirubin (Ibil) were measured in 340 individuals.
  • The study included 88 healthy subjects, 133 MS patients, and 119 patients with cerebral infarction.
  • Statistical analyses were performed to compare bilirubin levels across groups and assess correlations.
