  • 12 patients with closed, non-fracture mallet fingers underwent the buried purse-string suture procedure.
  • Knots were buried subcutaneously, and external fixation was used nightly for three weeks post-operation.

Main Results:

  • Follow-up ranged from 6-12 months (mean 7 months).
  • 75% of patients achieved excellent or good outcomes based on Patel's criteria.
  • 17% had fair results, and 8% had poor results.
