Summary

Magnetism in oxygen-depleted Indium(III) oxide (In2O3) surfaces arises from indium vacancies. These vacancies induce ferromagnetic states, explained by the Stoner model and In s-p orbital hybridization, clarifying magnetism in nanostructures.
