Abstract:
This abstract gives a survey of the clinical signs and the currently used methods for the diagnosis of liver diseases in horses. The laboratory diagnostic procedures are related with emphasis on the analysis of enzyme activities as a primary diagnostic aid and in addition to the evaluation of substrates. The diagnostic procedures are completed by liver biopsy and sonography.
