Repeat treatment for recurrent hepatocellular carcinoma: is it validated?

Repeated locoregional treatments can prolong survival for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients after recurrence. Prognosis is poor with large tumors or poor liver function, but better with small tumors, long recurrence-free intervals, and no extrahepatic spread.
