Summary

Transcranial Doppler sonography revealed that pulsatile extracorporeal circulation (ECC) during heart surgery reduced middle cerebral artery blood flow velocity compared to non-pulsatile flow. Mild hypothermia during ECC supports increased cerebral blood flow.
