This study proposes four neuromodulator systems control behavior: dopaminergic (reactive approach), cholinergic (reactive avoidance), noradrenergic (proactive behavior), and serotonergic (withdrawal). This model clarifies behavioral control and resolves conceptual confusions in psychology.
