Summary

Simple hand-assisted laparoscopic nephrectomy (HALSN) shows comparable outcomes to radical hand-assisted laparoscopic nephrectomy (HALRN). Operative times, hospital stay, and complication rates were similar between the two procedures.

  • Similar operative times (301 vs 286 min) and hospital stays (5.0±3.8 vs 4.0±1.2 days) between HALSN and HALRN.
  • Comparable rates of minor complications (18% vs 24%).
