Diagnostic evaluation: additional urodynamic testing
1Department of OB/GYN, University of Utah Medical Center.
Abstract:
There is a large array of additional urodynamic tests to be used as an adjunct to cystometry. Although each, in theory, is useful good clinical practice dictates that such testing be used only if clarification of diagnosis is needed or if a change in management due to test results is anticipated. Submitting every patient referred for urodynamic evaluation to the same battery of tests regardless of the individual's symptoms is to be discouraged.
