Abstract:
The Oxford classification of IgA nephropathy (IgAN) has been developed as an international consensus- and evidence-based pathological classification system to accurately predict the risk of disease progression in individual patients. The classification system needs to be validated in independent studies throughout the world using the entire spectrum of IgAN cases. With further refinements and fine tuning, this system may help in determining individualized treatment and risk prediction for patients with IgAN.
