Effector T cells immune reactivity among patients with acute hepatitis E

Acute Hepatitis E shows activated T-cells, with increased CD8(+) and CD4(+) CD8(+) cells. Patients mounted a stronger interferon-gamma response to Hepatitis E virus (HEV) proteins, indicating effector T-cell activation during infection.
